How to Eat Healthy Food for Cancer Patients
Cancer is a disease that requires a combination of medical and nutritional treatment to successfully overcome. Medications such as chemotherapy and radiation treatments can damage and destroy healthy cells while fighting cancer cells. However, your body needs these healthy cells, so you can maintain strength throughout their treatment and increase the effectiveness of them. It is therefore essential for cancer patients, for a healthy diet before, during and after their treatments.
Eat lean protein. The consumption of foods that are high in protein will give you strength and help the body rebuild tissues that have been damaged by treatment. These include foods like chicken, Peru, lean meat and eggs.
Eat in the morning. Many cancer patients may find that in the course of the day, they begin to lose their appetite. For this reason, it is sometimes better to prepare the breakfast of your main meal of the day.
Drink plenty of fluids. Loss of appetite can occur during the treatment process, especially if some of the side effects that occur are nausea, constipation or diarrhea. In such cases, it is vital to drink plenty of fluids, especially water. The water helps to maintain hydration and plays an important role in the proper functioning of the body.
